Every month, we’ll send you two books, each carefully selected from our monthly focus tables so you can bring the Bàrd experience to your home. Each month we curate two focus tables - sometimes whimsical, sometimes political - always timely and reflective of what's happening in the world around us. From Black History Month to Pride, Bunnies (for Easter) and Fem Gore (Hallowe'en), we like to celebrate books by authors and books we love: both brand new and rediscovered classics, and now you can discover them too from the comfort of your own couch.

What’s included in the price?
Two paperback books, one from each of our themed monthly ‘focus’ tables, a postcard written by our booksellers explaining the choice behind the themes and the reason for the book selection. The price includes delivery but there is an option to collect from Bard Books if you live locally.
I only like non-fiction (or crime, or romance). Is this subscription right for me?
Our monthly focus tables are usually filled with a range of recent fiction titles to dredged up classics or forgotten gems. We stray away from categorizing books into genres, preferring to encourage ourselves to branch out and keep an open mind. This is the perfect choice for someone who wants to read more widely.
When will I get my delivery?
After sign-up, your first delivery will arrive with you mid-month the following month.
I’m thinking of buying a subscription as a gift. How do I do that?
Perfect! What a great gift for a loved one who doesn’t live close by and wants to experience all the joys Bard Books has to offer. Simply put their name and address details into the ‘recipient’ line and tick the ‘add a gift message’ option.
What if I want to give a subscription to someone who doesn’t live in the UK?
Unfortunately, for the time being, Bard’s subscription service is only available within UK.
Is this subscription appropriate for children?
The two paperback books will be fiction aimed at adults, sorry.
What happens if I already have / have read the books?
We will take great care in selecting the month’s choices, focusing on independent publishers and obscure/lesser marketed titles to prevent such a thing. In the event this does happen, you can send them back to us, or pop into the shop to return and you will be sent an extra book the following month. If you live close to our bookshop, just pop in and exchange the book. If you live further away, you can post it back to us (341-343 Roman Road, London E3 5QR– please include your full name) and we will send you two books the next month.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is included in the price of the subscription.
What if I need to skip a month or two?
No problem. Just email us at hello@wearebardbooks.co.uk with your full name by the 1st of the month you wn=ant to skip.
What if I need to update my address?
No problem. Just email us at hello@wearebardbooks.co.uk with your full name.
What if my delivery is lost or doesn’t arrive?
Each month the book should be with you by the 15th or so. If you haven’t received your book by then, please just drop us a note at hello@wearebardbooks.co.uk and we’ll get back to you.
