Samia Rida’s show, Kidnap, has just been to Edinburgh Festival with Gilded Balloon where it received a 5 star outstanding review.
Directed by Gareth Edwards whose other work includes Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping, Upstart Crow and Spaced. Producer Megan Shepherd.
"Kidnap is based on the true story of my kidnap to Saudi as a child. It’s a comedy. And don’t worry, it was my father who kidnapped me in the most flamboyant display of 'I’m going to win custody in this divorce' ever seen. And he’s from Saudi, he didn’t just throw a dart at a globe."
'Kidnap' is a dark, challenging and defiantly funny exploration of multiculturalism, domestic abuse, having a disabled sibling, Saudi and how kidnap can involve a swimming pool.
Doors 7pm, show starts 730pm. Run time 55 minutes.
